My event “Let’s play science”, created trying to put at the centre children and young people, according to the philosophy of my school, was really successful, both on Sunday afternoon when it took place on the occasion of my new classroom and in the following days online and offline.
Here the timelapse:
But let’s proceed in order.
By now, you know everything about my courses, my passions, too, but my new classroom was the occasion to show parents, too, and everyone who took part into it, how environments are important for a nice and funny learning.
So in this classroom there are fitted carpets, carpets and big pillows, but there are no desks.
The colours represent children and young people’s world, the motivational writings are strictly in English (in the bathroom, too) to remind them non-stop that they have to learn the English language very well and know it as the Italian one. Today is absolutely de rigueur for any job.
Three giants blackboards wall, with coloured felt tip pens always available (they serve for the brain storming). A great bright robot inspires one of the main subjects, but not the only one, and a great video used for the learning, of course.
On the ceiling there’s a view of bright sky: it looks like almost catapulting us into the nature looking at it.
The environments tell about us and this classroom tells in every corner my philosophy of school I try to explain in this video.
But what’s exactly this event “let’s play science!”?
You can find the report of the day directly on the AGI blog where I write in the “Millenials” section – I recommend you to read it before keep reading this post.
On the contrary, here I would tell you about all the new ideas which came to my mind following the success of the event and the really many contacts I received.
First of all I’m looking for someone who helps me in the areas of Alessandria, someone interested in embracing my school philosophy, who is fond of education and who likes staying among children.
Then I have a lot of dreams and future projects.
Children and young people of the big cities have a lot of opportunities, both in tech and robotic field and in different schools.
I would like to give also children and young people living in the province cities like mine the opportunity to learn enjoying themselves.
Make them and their parents understand how learning can be funny and interesting, make them touch what I had the chance to learn in Boston: fun have to be always the engine of all.
Passion can push each of us to reach unbelievable tops.
But how can we make the young people discover the passion?
I think there’s only one way: educate to curiosity, make them wonder, explore new fields.
We have to make young people trying and experimenting how more possible fields. Even those ones that aren’t in the least idea of their parents or that they think are without future.
Always remember that almost all the jobs the children and young people will do in their working life, today have not been invented yet.
So we cannot be certainly we who indicate the way which their job will pass through.
We can only give more skills possible so that they are able to face alone the choices their life will put ahead of them.
But we can transmit to them – unlike it happens too often today in the job world – that be happy and love what you do is the key of success and personal satisfaction.
Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life!
